We can help you build the home or office of your dreams but first we need to do a little homework together. Often customers come to us believing they know what they really want but upon our asking detailed questions about their project, the answers can become vague. As you share all your thoughts on the project, we are here to advise and guide you by following these steps.
Initial Meeting
We are very grateful you’ve chosen Malcarne Contracting and we are here for you every step of the way, listening to your needs and concerns. We’ll ask you questions to help establish your goals, parameters and the scope of the project. We lay out this process to you in detail since we understand that this is an emotional, as well as financial, investment.
Visit your Job Site
We’ll perform a thorough evaluation of your site conditions in reference to your wants and needs.
Progressive Wish Lists
We will work with you to create three lists that narrow down the scope of your project:
- The Everything List – which is just what it says. You tell us all your dreams and ideas for the project with the thought that “The sky’s the limit!” This information helps us paint a comprehensive picture of what you are envisioning.
- Priority List – is where you come back down to earth a little. It’s not always practical to do everything that you want since your available budget will ultimately determine what you can actually do. We’ll work with you on the Everything List to create a Priority List of the most vital projects—from the ones you can’t live without to the ones you don’t even realize you need.
- Budget List – Now it’s time to get the rough pricing for the job. We’ll take the Priority List and provide you with estimates for each project including a grand total of all the projects.
Establish Timeframe
Since the length of the project can often affect the project cost, knowing everyone’s timeframe will also help us to manage expectations as we turn your construction dreams into reality. We will work with you to create a schedule that works for all involved from start to completion of the project.

Communication is a key to success in the construction process. You can expect us to email, call or text you or use any other means of information transfer that you like, to make sure
that we both have all the information needed and readily available. The more we know about you and your project, the more we can deliver what you really want. And at any point along this process, know that we are here to patiently and thoughtfully answer all your questions to your complete satisfaction.
